Internet Mail Order Brides
The internet is the ultimate in equal opportunity. Those who are fakes, frauds,
scam artists and just plain old garden variety crooks are connected to the
same internet that you are connected to and there is really not a fail-proof
way to tell which internet users, services or businesses are who they say
they are and which are the criminal element of society.
Many times men will seek a mail-order bride. They want a woman to marry who
has been raised in a society that has instructed her that she is generally
subservient to her husband....a trait that many men find very attractive.
Russian mail order brides are big business on the internet as are Asian mail
order brides.
Men who are seeking mail order brides need to realize that they have put
themselves into a position to get scammed. They can get scammed by the companies
offering the mail order bride service and they can get scammed by the mail
order brides themselves.
The first indication that the mail order bride business may not be on the
up and up is if they have a free email address and no street address. Free
email addresses are untraceable. Only ISP email addresses can be traced.
If the membership fee is very low or even nonexistent but there are 'fees'
for forwarding emails or other services, be very wary or the mail order bride
business.
When a man receives letters from the woman who has chosen from a catalogue
and the letters never use his name but terms like "sweetie, honey, darling,
or my love" red flags should go up. These are generic letters. The letter
that the man sent was probably not even read.
If after two or three letter exchanged, the woman declares her love, it may
be flattering but it should also raise a red flag. She can't be 'in love'
with a person she doesn't even know.
If the next request if for money to come to meet you, be very, very careful.
Do NOT send money. Make arrangements with a local taxi service to pick the
bride up at her home and deliver her to the airport. Make airline reservations
and do not send money for air fare. Make hotel reservations for the bride.
Men who seek mail order brides are well aware of what THEY want. What they
may not be thinking about is that the 'bride' also knows what SHE wants and
the two wants may not be compatible.
If a man who is seeking a mail order bride makes the mistake of sending money
to the bride to be, he will be met with 'delays' which will all require that
more money be sent forthwith. There will be emergencies in the bride's family
that will require yet more money be sent. The man is most apt to end up with
an empty bank account and no bride to show for his trouble.
There are, of course, legitimate mail order bride operations but there are
a lot more illegitimate ones. This is one of those situations where 'buyer
beware' applies.
